The Green Valley Kiwanis Club was chartered in 1989 with the help of Kiwanians from the Henderson and Las Vegas Clubs. In its relatively short life, the club has proved to be an active force in the community with service to youth, senior citizens and the handicapped. The club presently sponsors 8 High School Key Clubs, the UNLV Circle K Club and 1 Builders Club. Our community service includes support to St. Jude's Ranch (St. George House), Robert Taylor Elementary, Salvation Army, Numerous Cancer Organizations and Serving Our Kids Food Bank, to mention a few.
OBJECTIVES OF KIWANIS....
To give primacy to the human & spiritual rather than to the material values of life.
To encourage the daily living of the “Golden Rule” in all human relationships.
To promote the adoption and the application of higher social, business, & professional standards.
To develop by precept & example, a more intelligent, aggressive, and serviceable citizenship.
To provide through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, & to build better communities.
To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism, and goodwill.
